what is breathwork mastery (rbm)?
Breathwork Mastery (RBM), developed by Alakh Analda an internationally respected breathwork educator, trainer and practitioner with over three decades of experience. After becoming a breathworker in 1987 and training practitioners from 1993 onwards, Alak developed a client-centred approach that has trained practitioners around the world. Her Breathwork Mastery curriculum formed the foundation of nationally accredited breathwork qualifications in Australia.
Rooted in the tradition of Rebirthing Breathwork and inspired by Alakh's background in yoga and mindful self-awareness, RBM takes a gentle, client-centred approach. Rather than directing or "fixing" someone's experience, the breathworker creates a safe, supportive space where your own breath, body, and inner wisdom lead the process. The role of the facilitator is to support, not control, your session.
A cornerstone of this approach is intention. Each session begins by connecting with what you want to create or experience in your life, before moving into a full, conscious, connected breathing practice that encourages greater awareness of the body's sensations. As awareness expands, many people experience a gentle unwinding of stress, old patterns, and limiting beliefs, creating space for greater clarity, self-trust, and authentic living.
At its heart, RBM is not about someone else healing you. It is about reconnecting you with your own innate capacity for awareness, growth, and transformation. Through conscious breathing, self-awareness, and intention, the practice supports you to move towards living with greater freedom, presence, and alignment with who you truly are.
Full, conscious and connected breathing releases blocked energy and resolves issues from the past, AND at the same time, it gives inspiration and ongoing clarity. It creates ACTION instead of REACTION in daily life and you become ‘free to choose’ your response to life in the moment. This mindful self revealing and self clearing process frees us up from past limiting beliefs, conditioning and concepts. Clarity emerges and we begin to release and fully land into the realisation that “some of what I believed to be true about myself and the world around me, from the start of my life, may not be true for me now, and in fact it is no longer serving me”. When we land in these awareness shifts and integrate then on a body level, we can create a new relationship with ourselves and our life.
